    POSITANO, AMALFI AND RAVELLO

Much is said about the “Amalfi drive“, described as one of the most spectacular in Europe and is like nothing else.
The first stop will be made at the “Madonnina” to photograph the gem of the Amalfi Coast that has always provoked the interest of a cosmopolitan class of actors, directors, poets etc. You will then continue on to Amalfi, one of the oldest marine republics as well as home town of Flavio Gioia, the inventor the compass”.

Al centro di Amalfi, preceduto da un ampia scalinata sorge il Duomo, consacrato a S. Andrea (IX sec.) con una scenografia facciata decorata nel timpano da un mosaico ottocentesco.
Free time for lunch.
A visit to the Arsenali is recommended where they used to construct the big ships. You shouldn’t miss a trip to the “grotta dello smeraldo” which is a service provided by the port of Amalfi.

Continuing on to Ravello where the natural beauty of the landscapes harmonises with the precious monuments.
You will visit the cathedral dedicated to San Pantaleone and Villa Rufolo, which inspired Wagner’s “Parsifal” and where every year concerts are organised in his honour.
Return to Sorrento.
